BitTorrent is a peer to peer file sharing communications protocol which is a method used to distribute large amounts of data widely as it effectively reduces the cost and burden on any individual source. It likewise provides for redundancy against system problems and allows the original distributor to be free from incurring the entire costs of hardware, hosting and bandwidth resources.
Significant traffic on the Internet is attributed to the usage of this particular protocol although the precise amount can be difficult to measure. Numerous compatible BitTorrent clients written in a variety of programming languages and running on different computing platforms exist. BitTorrent clients are programs that download files using the BitTorrent protocol.

I read an article recently about eBay, claiming the online retail giant is suffering from slower growth lately. Frankly, as the web and the online economy matures, I am not surprised that this is the case. After all, why visit one shopping destination, when you have shopping comparison engines such as shopping.com and dealtime.co.uk that do such a great job. I recently searched for a new cellphone and had my eye on the N95 by Nokia. After searching in Dealtime I found so many stores competing for my business and even had a link to eBay auctions for the same product leaving the choice in my hand. But besides ranking products by price, they also do an excellent job with product and store rankings making it easy to compare various buying options one against the other. My next job is to get a new laptop and have already begun to Compare Notebooks using Dealtime. It’s so much fun!

Phone manufacturers resort to “locking” the cell phones due to the economics of the wireless industry. A locked phone is pre-programmed to work on a specific carrier’s network only and cannot easily be used with another provider, even with the same technology. Since most new phones bought with service are heavily subsidized by the carrier as a way to attract new customers, the carrier would naturally want to protect the investment it has made on the customer.
The usual way of doing this is by contract while locking the phones is another method. Obviously, a locked phone presents actual physical hindrance to any attempt in violating an agreement which many consumers might be tempted to do with so many service providers coming up with irresistible offers.

Since a solar sail can never be launched directly from the ground, a second spacecraft is required to be deployed in space to launch it. This is because solar sails rely solely on sunlight for power. Another possible option is to use microwave or laser beams as provided by a satellite or another spacecraft. The energy beams can be directed at the sail for launching while providing a secondary power source during its journey. Once the sails are launched, an inflatable boom system deploys it which is triggered by a built-in deployment mechanism.
When the spacecraft finds itself far from sunlight, an onboard laser takes over to provide the necessary propulsion to the sails. Although initially based on the disproved premise of solar wind, scientists have discovered that sunlight can exert enough force to move objects.

Sure, I love the summer. But to be honest, I typically find myself spending quite a lot of time fantasizing about the upcoming winter and my next skiing trip. Someone actually offered me to join him on a summer ski trip to Australia (it’s winter there) but I had to pass due to budget issues. But just because I can’t go boarding now doesn’t mean I can’t gear up for the season. In fact, now is the best time to buy with many off season discounts. The trick is knowing where to buy. I especially like christysports.com for their terrific prices on Burton snowboards and accessories. The great thing about buying from Christy Sports is the fact that they know snowboarding and live the sport. A nice touch to their site is the fact that they offer their customers to sign up for daily snow reports during the season. You can find the link for signing up under “Special Offers”.

With so many cell phone models to choose from, each offering features that they believe consumers can’t do without, it could be very hard to determine one’s choice. However, there is one thing everyone should remember with regards to determining the best. Any gadget or device is only as good as its usefulness to the user – functionality-wise, size-wise or budget-wise. The most feature-filled item will not serve anyone well if the user cannot maximize its use.
The right phone is the one that will serve a person’s specific needs. Finding one can be a balancing act between price and features but the best bet is one that matches closest to the desired features yet still fall within the budget. Technology and economics will ultimately combine and limit one’s choice in cell phones.

Up until recently I haven’t had much experience with lawyers other than telling some lawyer jokes here and there but recently one of my domains came into a WIPO dispute and I had to get into the system and hire a good attorney. I still tell lawyer jokes now and then but I can tell you this – I owe my lawyer quite a bit for his help. Thankfully he was knowledgeable in the field which helped a lot. I like lawyers who show knowledge in the online world and was quite impressed by the fact that a Nebraska Attorney actually took upon themselves to manage their own website as opposed to having an outside agency do it for them. The site is still a work in progress but kudos to Smith, Gardner & Slusky for what is becoming a killer legal website.

For a long time looking for a good camera meant getting one with the most amount of mega pixels. That is really no longer the case. Now that most cameras have a decent if not good amount of mega pixels, there is no real reason to, say, get a ten mega pixel camera over a seven mega pixel one. Unless that camera has other features that are superior to the less mega pixel camera, there is no point in spending the extra money. Unless, of course, you are planning on blowing a picture up to the size of a building.
